Education and Training Center
Education and Training Department
At the Hecht Museum, learning begins with an encounter. The Education Department works to make the museum’s treasures and content accessible and meaningful to a broad spectrum of the public—including children, youth, families, individuals with special needs, adults, and educators—driven by a commitment to accessibility, equal opportunity, and significant learning for everyone. Our guided tours and educational activities are tailored to specific age groups, backgrounds, and curricula; they are rooted in active engagement, open dialogue, and curiosity-sparking experiences. Through encounters with archaeological artifacts and works of art, we foster critical and creative thinking, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to draw connections between the past, the present, and the future. As an integral part of the University of Haifa, the Hecht Museum offers a unique, dynamic, and ongoing link between advanced academic research and the community. The Education Department collaborates with researchers and academic departments to share academic knowledge and modes of thought with diverse audiences, using language that is engaging, relevant, and accessible.
